Doom Patrol #86 (again)

Doom Patrol #86 (1964)
by Arnold Drake & Bruno Premiani

This is the first issue where the series is retitled “Doom Patrol”.

I’ve already reviewed this one for the first appearance of The Brain, and I don’t have anything substantial to add.
As I did in the original review, however, I just HAVE to bring out the fact that the team celebrates Chief’s birthday on a random day that BY SHEER COINCIDENCE just happens to be his actual birthday.

Other than that, there’s only one new thing worth mentioning since it’s going to be a major plot point in the next issue: Negative Man is in love with Elasti-Girl, and there’s the mystery of what he looks like under the bandages.

Historical significance: 7/10
Silver Age-ness: 10/10
Does it stand the test of time? 8/10
I stand by the original review.

Times Robotman has been damaged: 3

Issues when Robotman is never damaged: 4

Interesting letters: you didn’t need to insult this poor computer?

I think we all know who has the world’s dumbest brain.
