Lois Lane #74

LOIS LANE #74 (1967)
by Leo Dorfman & Kurt Schaffenberger

Despite all appearances, this is not Reverse Flash.

We begin with the Justice League holding a meeting “on a faraway planet”, meaning Earth is currently unprotected.
If you don’t consider all the non-JLA superheroes like Supergirl.

But Superman kind of has a point, since during his absence someone shoots a capsule towards Earth. Too bad the Justice League is away, I’m sure Green Arrow could’ve solved this.

The capsule is not a weapon: it contains Not-Reverse-Flash.

Lois immediately finds him hot. Because of course she does.

Superman comes back to Earth just in time to be useless, before he has to leave for another mission.

Front page of the Daily Planet: “Mentally ill woman harasses coma patient”.

This is enough to wake him up (!!!!). And his name is… Hero.
Yeah, I’m going to stick to Not-Reverse-Flash.

As a sign of gratitude, he melts her camera. Which she didn’t even get to use, since Jimmy took the picture.

These guys are currently on the ship that rescued Not-Reverse-Flash, who has to go save a different nearby ship from a shipwreck.

Joke’s on him, considering last issue Lois is probably into this rough stuff.

Told you.

Not-Reverse-Flash is totally not Reverse Flash. Instead of rescuing the ship by running really really fast, he saves the ship by swimming really really fast.

He has to leave on an important mission, but not without calling her Lois despite the fact that she hasn’t had the time to introduce herself.

Then she fantasizes about him being a stalker. Takes one to know one, I guess.

But of course she’s still thinking about Superman. God forbid we spend more than two pages without talking about him.

Not-Reverse-Flash invites Lois to dinner. But as soon as she steps out of the room… “WHAPP!”.

Completely normal human behavior, guys.

But it’s okay since he gave Lana the wrong address. (WTF!?)

Not-Reverse-Flash manages to find the criminal, but instead of saving Lois he ensures that she’ll be gunned down.

Superman saves her, but Not-Reverse-Flash is tougher than he looks.

That’s because Not-Reverse-Flash is actually… Bizarro-Flash!?

You see, he’s an imperfect Bizarro because instead of using the duplicating ray on Flash, they used the ray at a TV that was showing the Flash holding a gavel.

Sounds legit.

And that’s why nothing he did made any sense!

All that’s missing is how her kiss revived him. Well that’s because she touched him in a special place.

Well that was… uhm… that was a thing that was published. SOMEHOW.

Historical significance: 0/10
Bizarro Flash does have some other appearances, but come on.

Silver Age-ness: 10/10
Bizarro alone would be enough. But this one was created with a TV!!!

Does it stand the test of time? 0/10
On Bizarro World, this is a fantastic story.

Stupid Lois Lane moment
I know she’s used to The Worst, but Not-Reverse-Flash dragging her by her hair (SOMEHOW not killing her) should’ve raised quite a few red flags.
